At the end of the week, we conclude with a final performance of song and dance, recorder, ukulele, piano, and violin.

Scene One Originals

Scene One Originals is a week-long summer program is designed for creative high school students interested in writing original music in a theatrical style. Taught by Tyler, a local musical theater composer, with assistance from Ms. Amanda, it emphasizes creative and collaborative processes, with a focus on developing music, lyrics, and stories. Students begin by learning about musical storyboarding, plot elements, and the musical tropes of the genre. This is followed by music and lyric workshops, consisting of small exercises designed to spark creativity and inspiration. Next, the group will come together to invent a story for an original musical, tackling setting, characters, and conflicts. The program will conclude with the creating and performing of a song from our new musical.
